Barbara Belle Wood: Barbara B. Wood, 70, of 505 Main St., Polk, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2:50 pm at UPMC Northwest Medical Center, Seneca. Born December 27, 1939, she was the daughter of Paul R. and Ruth M. Sarver Latshaw. Barbara was a cook and waitress for several different companies in the area and did upholstery work. She was a life member and past president of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was a die hard Steelers fan. She loved bowling, crossword puzzles, playing cards (especially poker), water skiing, and hunting. Barbara was a pool player and was famous for her cooking. Barbara was married on March 7, 1964 to Cylde (Cliff) C. Wood, Jr., who survives. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by five sons, Charles P. Card and his wife, Alice, of Franklin, Anthony M. Card, Sr. and his wife, Darlene of Franklin, Lance E. Wood of Polk, Alan W. Wood and his wife, Shawnee of Polk, and Clay D. (Boomer) Wood and his wife, Shari of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and a daughter, Kristine K. Gordon and her husband, David (Wes), of Utica. She is also survived 13 grandchildren, David M. Morrison Card of Franklin, Robert E. Chatley and his wife, Holly of Cooperstown, Anthony M. Card of Dempseytown, Destiny L. Wood of Oil City, Quincey M. Wood of Polk, Trevor J. Wood of Polk, Tyler J. Wood of Polk, Rileigh E. Wood of St. Clairsville, Addison N. Wood of St. Clairsville, Chad H. Deeter and his wife, Jackie of Cooperstown, Kelli M. Martin of Franklin, Tracy L. Cormell of Sparta, KY, and Wesley P. Gordon of Utica; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Phillip Latshaw and his wife, Arvella, of Pleasantville and Richard Latshaw and his wife, Marilyn of Franklin. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth P. Latshaw; and son, Michael L. Card. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27 at 11:00 am at the Polk Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Diane Whitman presiding. Interment will follow at Old Sandy Cemetery.
