For years I would be telling people about my Uncle Art and how he was a left handed pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds back in the day and inevitably someone would not believe me so no matter what time of night I would call Uncle Art wake him up and make him tell the story of getting drafted by the Reds from little old Meadville. I do think he enjoyed it I know I did. As I got older and started to play baseball as a catcher he would come out and pitch to me for practice. Ouch! I would have to put a sponge in my mitt for a cushion. What a fastball!!!!
RIP Uncle Art I will continue to tell that story as long as I am alive!
Sue, Deni, Karen and family,
We were so saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing. Although we have not seen him much in the last few years, when we did he always took the time to stop and talk and have a kind word. We greatly respected his political views and willingness to work tirelessly on the campaign. He was a good man. May your beautiful memories bring you some peace at this difficult time.
Our sympathies go out to our friends Shirley, Denise, and Sue and the family. Jan and Jill
Art was a great example to all men like myself.
We had great admiration and respect for him because for the devoted Husband, he was to his Wife; the devoted Father, he was to his three wonderful Daughters; and the devoted man that he was to all men that knew him.
We have lost a outstanding man in Art, that there are few and far between.
Our sympathies and respect to Art’s Family. May he rest in peace.
