Howard Alan Martin, 83, of Erie, PA, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, at Saint Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 30, 1943, in Mercer County to Arthur and Delores (Tenney) Martin, Howard spent his early years on the family farm, where he developed a lifelong love for the land, growing crops, and raising cattle.
He dedicated over 20 years of his life to working as a molder at Penn Union in Edinboro before retiring. Howard was a familiar face at the Table of Grace Church in Erie, where he cherished the community and friendships formed over the years. In his later years, he enjoyed taking “Memory Lane” rides, sharing stories from his cherished days on the farm with family and friends.
Howard is survived by his daughter Cathy Myers of Erie, his son Robert Martin of Illinois, five grandchildren – Justin Myers, Amanda Wander (Dave), Scott Frantz (Crystal), Shelley Kimmel (Bobby), and Bentley Martin – and five great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and his two sisters, Sandra Hildum (Bob) and Barb Hart. He was preceded in death by his two beloved daughters, Kayla and Suzie Martin.
A special thank you goes out to the wonderful ladies at Life-NWPA Dom Care for their attentive care during Howard’s later years.
