Dorothy M. Leight

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy M. Leight, who left us peacefully on September 9, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on December 19, 1932, in Wayne Township, Dorothy was the daughter of Walter E. and Zoie Chalot Leight.

Dorothy graduated from Meadville High School in 1951. She found her calling in the insurance world, working as a licensed agent for several agencies, including Remler-Suman Agency, Tom Deloe Agency, and Galvin, Jackson, and Starr. Dorothy eventually retired in 1995.

She was a talented gardener, an avid sewer, and enjoyed embroidering and quilting. You would often find her lost in a good book, embracing the joy and escape that reading provided. Dorothy was also a devoted member of Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, where she cherished her faith and community.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Eileen Collins. She leaves behind a host of loving cousins who will remember her fondly.

Friends and family are welcome to call on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 10:00 am – 10:30 am at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Saint Agatha, 353 Pine Street, with Father Jeffrey Lucas, as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Saint Hippolyte Cemetery, Frenchtown.
