Roger David Wade Sr

Roger D. Wade, Sr. of Union City passed away at home on August 26, 2026.

Born in Dixon, IL on July 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Velma L. Pope Wade.
Roger was a 1958 graduate of Dixon High School and a graduate of DeVry Technical Institute in 1960.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corp during the Vietnam War Era.

Roger married the love of his life, the former Gloria Jean Morris, on July 25, 1964. She preceded him in death in 1999.

He worked as a technician for the Lord Corporation retiring in 2003 after 31 years of dedicated service.

Roger enjoyed putting together model cars and reading, especially if it was history. He would rather be at home with is family, enjoying the grand children and great grandchildren running around playing games with them. He also liked to build things and would often pull out the erector set and show the grandchildren all the different items that could built. He was a kind and gentle soul.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Brenda Marie Hildum and her husband, Scott, of Union City, Diana “DeeDee” Bliss and her husband, Roger, of North East, and Roger D. Wade, Jr. and his wife, Leslie, of Union City; his grandchildren Brandyn Gemler, Dustin Gemler, Tyler Gemler, Austin Soto, Emily & William Taggart, Nick Bliss, Isaiah Bittner, Devan Wade, Kendyl Wade; and his great grandchildren Aiden, Oaklyn, Evander, Umbrina, and Oliver.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Kinsley.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City, PA on Monday, August 31st from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, September 1st at the funeral home at 10 am.

Roger will be laid to rest next to his wife in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Roger’s name to UPMC Family Hospice – Erie, 1700 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501.
