We are heartbroken to share that Rev. Gerald David Brooks, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at Pleasant Ridge Manor. Born on October 15, 1938, in Union City, David was a true blessing to everyone who knew him.
He was a proud graduate of Union City High School and went on to attend seminary school, answering the call to serve as a pastor. He dedicated his life to sharing the word of God, leading congregations at Wrightsville Community Church and later at Faith Church of Corry. David also proudly served in the National Guard for six years, demonstrating his commitment and service to his community.
David is survived by his loving wife, Betty J. Brooks, whom he married on November 5, 2016. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Trina Bukousky (Jason) of Georgia, and his two stepsons, Gerald F. Albert, Jr. (Denise) of Erie and Ben Howard (Donna) of Florida. He adored his grandchildren: Kristina Albert, Gerald Albert III, Ben Howard, Jr., Olivia Howard, and Maykla Howard. He also cherished many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald E. and Caroline Baker Brooks, five brothers-Kenneth, Earl, Eugene, James, and William-and two sisters, Betty and Wilabelle.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, August 6, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 62 S. Main Street, Union City. A funeral service will follow on Friday, August 7, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
David will be laid to rest at West Union Cemetery in Union City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith Church of Corry, located at 13444 W. Washington Street, Corry, PA 16407, in honor of David’s deep commitment to faith and community.

Pastor Dave was instrumental in directing me to attend Circleville Bible College (now Ohio Christian University). He pastored the Pleasantville Community Church in the 1970s. He loved our family and we loved him. He and my dad will have a grand reunion in heaven!
Pastor Dave was our pastor at our church for many years at Community Christian Church.And later I met my husband Jim and Pastor Dave married us 54 years ago.When he saw us he would ask us how the knot he tied was doing.And we had a good laugh.He was a good friend for many years R.I.P. Dave
He dedicated both of my children, gave me the opportunity to preach my first sermon, and allowed me the privilege of serving under his leadership as youth pastor. He invested countless hours teaching, challenging, encouraging, and guiding me. He taught me that people come before paperwork and that family comes before church ministry. He also prayed over Lori and me when I was ordained—a moment I will always treasure.
Even after our years of serving together, Pastor Dave continued to invest in my life. Whenever I shared what God was doing in our ministry, he would tell me how proud he was of me and remind me that he and his wife prayed for me every single day. I think that is one of the things I will miss most.
I will miss his wisdom, his guidance, his loving accountability, and simply hearing his voice. Most of all, I will remember the love of Jesus that flowed so naturally through his life.
Thank you, Pastor Dave, for believing in me, praying for me, and faithfully investing in my life. Your influence will continue through my family, my ministry, and the lives of those I have the privilege of serving.
Until we meet again, I will honor your legacy by proclaiming Jesus to the world and making disciples who make disciples.
Well done, Pastor Dave. You are deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed.
