Betty Jean Fay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Jean Fay, who left this world peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on April 2, 1932, in Union City, PA, a daughter of Deforest “Shorty” Hart and Dorothy Hart Witt. Betty lived a life full of love, family, and faith. A proud graduate of Union City High School’s class of 1950. Marrying the love of her life, Kenneth W. Fay, Sr., on March 24, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1997. Betty dedicated her life to her family and home, becoming the heart of her household as a devoted homemaker.

Betty was a well-loved member of the Jehovah Witness community in Union City, where she found joy and connection through her faith. She had a passion for gardening, spent countless happy days camping at her cabin in the woods, and found peace in watching birds. Betty loved to can the harvest from her garden, enjoy a good book, and study the Bible. She was known for her heartfelt letters and, of course, for spoiling her family – a legacy that will continue to flourish.

Betty leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory dearly: her three daughters, Lila (Pete) Craven of Centerville, Cheryl (John) Rose of Corry, and Tracy (Tom) Sandell of Centerville; her three sons, Tim Fay of Meadville, Dave Fay of Corry, and John (Pilar) Fay of Corry. Additionally, she is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who filled her life with endless joy. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Katurah (Marvin) Darling of Ohio.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, two sisters-Beatrice and Violet-four children, Kenneth “Sonny” Fay, Jr., Sue Walden, Joel Fay, and Jason Fay, and a granddaughter, Sarah Fay.

Her family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating her remarkable life at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 62 S. Main Street, Union City on July 27, 2026, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the same location on July 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Betty will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
