Joshua Allen Monks, 37, of Franklin passed away on July 20, 2026 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, with family at his side.

Born in Oil City on November 14, 1988, he was the son of Howard and Karen Dunlap Monks.

He was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Josh loved camping and was a part of the VacationLand Campground Family since he was little. He also like to play golf here and there and was an avid gamer.

Left to cherish his memory along with his parents are his sister, Jennifer Potter and her husband, Joel, of Franklin; his nephews Jacob and Jarett Potter both of Franklin and his friends and coworkers.

His grandparents Howard and Josephine Monks and Arthur and Lois Dunlap preceded him in death.

There will be no public services at this time and arrangements are in the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.

Josh will be laid to rest with his family in Graham Cemetery, Franklin.

Memorial donations can be made in Josh’s memory to Precious Paws Animal Rescue, PO Box 784, Franklin, PA 16323.

  8. I didn’t know josh that well but he was my mom’s neighbor until she passed away in February and she spoke very highly of him and absolutely loved him
