Kay Shouey, 87, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Sugar Creek Care Center.

Born in Franklin on August 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Richards. Kay attended Rocky Grove High School.

On July 8, 1955, she married Bill Shouey, who preceded her in death on August 21, 2005.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Debbie Britt of Bellefonte, Pa.; her son, Ray Shouey and wife, Laurie, of Franklin; her grandchildren, Zachary Hudy and wife, Becki, Kristen Etchells and husband, Robert, Betsey Foy and husband, Jim, Rachael Shouey and partner, Steve, Jered Shouey and wife, Britt, Jordan Shouey and wife, Alex, Javan Shouey, and Ava Shouey and fiance, Landen; 19  great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Shirley Richards; and her niece, Julie Dombroski and husband, John.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Richards, and her nephew, Randall Richards.

No public services will be observed at this time and arrangements are in the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.

  3. Kay was our neighbor as long as we’ve lived here and she was such a nice person. Always saw her walking her dog down our street and when she would see us, she always stopped to talk . Such a nice lady.!!!
