Born in: Troy Township, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Titusville, Pennsylvania

Theodore J. Preston Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Country Acres Personal Care Home. Born on February 12, 1925, in Troy Township, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of Theodore J. Preston Sr. and Helen Federoff Preston.

He was a loving husband, first to Mary Charlene Adkins, who sadly predeceased him in 1994, and then to Ruth E. Bunce Conaway, who left us in 2025. Theodore dedicated much of his life to service, proudly retiring from a distinguished career from 1943-1973 in the U.S. Navy, Army, and Air Force.

A devoted member of the Troy Center Community Church and various VFW Posts, Theodore was known for his love of life. He enjoyed golfing-especially in those cherished father-son outings, as well as hunting, fishing, bowling, and gardening. Anyone who knew him also remembers his sweet tooth, particularly for the baked goods made with love by Ruth.

He leaves behind his daughter, Teddielyn (Ken) Dibble of Lake City, PA; daughter-in-law Mary Ann Preston of North Carolina; stepchildren Linda Conaway of Saegertown, Mary (George) Schroeder of Conneaut Lake, Neil (Terri) Conaway of Erie, Patricia (Don) Smith of Cambridge Springs, and Brenda (Curtis) Bogda of Cambridge Springs. He was also the cherished sibling to Pauline, Bill, Judy, Denny, and Nancy and is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Theodore was preceded in death by his parents; wives Mary and Ruth; sons Dale and Glen Preston; stepdaughter Cathy Roche; stepson-in-law Jon Roche; and siblings Helen, Jean, Elaine, Paul, Tom, Richard, and infant Julia.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Theodore’s life on Thursday, June 25th. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 33353 N. Main Street, Townville. A service honoring Theodore will follow at 3:00 PM, where military honors will be performed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Townville Volunteer Fire Department at 33441 N. Main St, Townville, PA 16360, or the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Department at 458 Meadville Rd, Titusville, PA 16354.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the caring staff at Country Acres, Hospice of Waterford, and Theodore’s special friend, Doneva Hyde. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
