Born in: Erie, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Union City, Pennsylvania

Donald A. Smith, a beloved member of our community, passed away on May 19, 2026, at UPMC Hamot surrounded by his family. He was born on November 12, 1963, in Erie, PA, to the late Robert M. Smith, Sr. and Elma M. Smith Peterson, who survives him.

Donald was well-known for his warm heart and friendly spirit. He was a member of both the Moose Club in Corry and the Labor Club, where he enjoyed spending time with friends. When he wasn’t cheering on the San Francisco 49ers or getting lost in the heartwarming stories of *Little House on the Prairie*, he could be found adding to his cherished collection of wolf memorabilia.

He leaves behind a loving family, including five daughters-Santania Buehler from North Tonawanda, NY; Ashley (James) Balester of Buffalo, NY; Tiffany Smith of Jamestown, NY; Alesha Fuller of Erie; and Mandi (Eric) Daly of Meadville. Donald was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and he will be dearly missed by his sisters, Natalie (with companion Rodney Turknett) Claypoole from Corry and Crystol (Steve) Fenno from Union City, as well as a half-sister, Carol Jean (Dave) Stottlemyer of Rawlings, Maryland. His extended family includes stepsisters Theresa Murphy of California, Lorie (Steve) Ciukaj of Erie, and Carrie Peterson of Corry, along with a special aunt, Catherine Davis of Barton, Maryland, special uncle Blair “Tip” Smith Sr., and close friends Joyce Edwards and Kelly McCray. Donald will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Donald is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sondra Darling Smith, his father, stepfather James Peterson, brothers Robert “Junnie” Smith Jr. and Gregory Smith, and sisters Rhonda Northrop and Kimberly Smith, along with a special aunt, Delores (Jean) Trusdail.

Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Tuesday, May 26th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 62 S. Main Street in Union City. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Blair Blakeslee officiating. A private burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Union City.
