Cathy Jean Harayda

Cathy Jean Harayda, 72, of Franklin passed away at home on May 20, 2026 with her family at her side.

Born in Erie on August 21, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Dolejas) Harayda.

Cathy had a kind heart that wanted to help the wayward souls which was reflected through her work as a Sargeant at VisionQuest.

She enjoyed going to thrift shops, reading, and caring for her plants. Her love of family never wavered and she enjoyed every moment of their time.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children Alfred Harayda and his partner, John Weida, of Sarasota, FL, Jason Covington and his wife, Lisa, of Franklin, Thomas Hearst and his wife, Amber, of New York, Pudgy Tate and Shavone“Chevy” Simmons and her husband, Billy, all of Franklin; her precious grandchildren Anna, Vanysia, Assjiah, Jasmine, Jason, Kaleb, Zelika, D’Andre, Terrence, Jordan, Brandon, Christian, Isaiah, Madison, Braxton, Zayden, and Malaina; her great grandchildren that she adored Kamora, Jackson, Brady, Isabella, Rosie, Kaleb, Kaloni, Zaraya, Hayden, Austin, Sienna, Nyava, Angel, and Kali. She is further survived by her siblings Michael Harayda, and Donna Conley both of St. Augustine, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Carol Clark, Patricia Guianen, Michelle Deforce, and Judy Umstead; and her son-in-law, Terry Tate.

Guests will be received at Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, May 22nd from 11 am until the start of services at 1 pm with Rev. David Smith, pastor of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

Cathy will be laid to rest in Franklin Cemetery.
