Frederick G. Cauvel, 88, of Franklin passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 at the Caring Place.
Born October 19, 1937 in Oakland Twp, Franklin, he was the son of the late Clair F. and Mildred M. (Pritchard) Cauvel.
On February 27, 1960, he married the former Ellen Zimmer and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2009.
Over the years, he worked at Joy Manufacturing, Cooper-Bessimer
He was a member of the Franklin Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed going to Linda Lou’s for breakfast with the guys. In his younger years, he would go to camp at Poland Hill in Tionesta, hunting, riding his ATV, snowmobiling, playing cards, travelling, and going to casinos.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Fike and her husband, Ray, SR., of Franklin; his grandson Ray Fike, Jr. and his wife, Kristen; his great grandchildren Trinity and Donovan Fike; and several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his brother-in-law John Stuttler and many friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife of 49 years, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Alan Cauvel; his granddaughter Gretchen Ann Anderson-Kohley; his siblings, Shirley Ann Stuttler and Clair “Vincent” Cauvel; his parents-in-law Frank and Esther (Brown) Zimmer; his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Julie and Slick, Toots and Henry, Agnes and Tom, and Peggy and Vince; his brothers-in-law and their spouses Jim and Jean and Dunc and Linda.
No public services will be observed at this time and arrangements are under care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Caring Place and the 2nd floor staff for the care and support for Fred and his family.

Kim- I’m sorry to hear of your Dads passing. I thought about him last week driving by his place. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
