Nancy C. Barger

Nancy C. Barger, 71, formerly of Franklin passed away on March 16, 2026 at UPMC Hamot with family at her side.

Born on July 23, 1954 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Hart) Carson. She was a 1972 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Nancy worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in Greensburg before transferring to Cambridge Springs. After retiring from SCI, Cambridge Springs, she then worked as a receptionist part time for Dr. Oyler.

On November 11, 2000, she married Gary L. Barger. He passed away on July 12, 2011.

In her younger years, Nancy enjoyed horseback riding, bowling and rollerskating. She also liked to sew and cook but her family was her world and she was thrilled to spend every moment she could with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Norman Kean, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Texas, Lorraine Weaver of Georgia, and Hazel Kean of Oil City; her grandchildren John, Gabriel, and Norman Weaver, twins Annette and Shawn Weaver, Cole Eller, Autumn Barger, and Austin Yarnell; and her step-children Brian, Michele, Heather, and Denise.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Norman E. Kean who passed on June 25, 1996; her siblings Chester, Albert, Norman, and Kenneth Carson, and Wilma Sutley; a nephew Albert Carson, Jr.; and a niece Brenda O’Neil.

Guests are invited to Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Thursday, March 19^th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Friday, March 20^th from 9 am until the start of the funeral service at 10 am with Pastor Kenneth Duffee, pastor of Grace Church of Rocky Grove, officiating.

Nancy will be laid to rest next to her husband, Gary in Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Nancy’s memory to the Grace Church of Rocky Grove, 350 Front Street, Franklin, Pa 16323; Venango County Humane Society, 286 South Main Street, Seneca, PA. 16346; and/or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
