It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda P. Dean, who left us on January 24, 2026, at the age of 65, after a courageous fight against cancer, surrounded by her beloved family in her home in Union City. Born on February 29, 1960, in Union City, PA, Linda lived a vibrant life that touched many with her warmth and spirit.
Linda was a graduate of Union City High School, class of 1978, and went on to serve her country in the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1984, a role she cherished deeply. After her military service, she embarked on a career in sales, working as an insurance agent with West Penn Insurance and most recently with Tops Market. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family and friends.
A member of the Catholic faith, Linda was also actively involved in her community as a Senior Regent at the Moose Club, Chapter 719. She enjoyed bowling and, more than anything, loved cheering on her grandchildren as they played sports-those moments brought her immense joy.
Linda leaves behind her step-father, Joseph Silka of Union City; daughter Tricia Kun (Markus) and son, Isaiah Dean (Betty) both of Union City; and her cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Zoe, Annie, Liam, and Hayden. She is also survived by her sister, Christine Firth (Ken), and several step-siblings, Leslie Reinke (Tom) of Union City, Mark Silka (Heidi) of Waterford, and Marion Wienczkowski (Jeff) of Twinsburg, Ohio.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, George Middleton in 1974 and her mother Patricia Lapek Middleton Silka in 2002.
As we celebrate Linda’s life, we invite friends and family to gather for calling hours on Thursday, January 29th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 4:00 PM, officiated by Father Thomas Suppa. A private burial will be held at Saint Teresa Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Union City High School Athletic Programs c/o Union City High School, 105 Concord Street, Union City, Pennsylvania 16438.
