Born in: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Saegertown, Pennsylvania

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard “Rich” M. Ivanic, 53, of Saegertown, who left us on January 20, 2026. Born on May 21, 1972, in Pittsburgh, PA, Rich was a beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend.

Rich was the kind of guy who could light up a room with his dad jokes and warm smile. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh and spent the last 14 years working at Swanson-Erie, where he made a lasting impact in the manufacturing industry. Rich was proud of his work and dedicated himself to every project he took on.

A member of Radiant Church, Rich shared his love for music by playing bass on the church worship team. Outside of work and church, he enjoyed restoring their farmhouse, working on cars, and spending time in the great outdoors hunting. He was all about family, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

Rich is survived by his loving wife, Beth Ivanic; his daughter, Olivia Baumgarten (Jerrin) of Mapleton, North Dakota; his sons, Devin Hoffman (Cadi) of Pittsburgh and Lukas Ivanic of Saegertown; and three grandchildren, Maisie Hoffman, Kennedy Hoffman, and Ruth Baumgarten. He is also survived by his father, Stephen Ivanic and his sisters, Dawna Palazzi (Carl) of Pittsburgh and Michelle Strohecker (Jay) of Columbiana, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Diane Ivanic, and a brother, Glenn Ivanic.

A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at Traveler’s Cafe, 167 Main Street, Saegertown, PA 16433 on March 7, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and we encourage everyone who knew him to join us in honoring his memory.
