It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Charles Keener, of Butler, who left us peacefully on January 15, 2026. Born on March 8, 1973, Kevin spent his life in service to others as an EMT for Meadville, Tionesta, and McGonigle Ambulance Service in Hermitage. He graduated from Maplewood High School in 1992 and also attended Crawford Vo-Tech for welding.
Kevin was a true lover of life, enjoying good times with family and friends. He was known for his skills at the pool table, participating in several leagues, as well as his passion for NASCAR and dirt track racing alongside his cousin Billy and Uncle Chuck. He loved the thrill of riding his motorcycle and cherished hunting with his buddies. Additionally, he served as both chief and assistant chief at the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Department, demonstrating his commitment to his community.
Kevin is survived by his fiancée, Abigail Knight of Butler, and his siblings: Kim Keener and her companion Kurt Klink of Titusville, Kelly Muckinaupt of Titusville, and Keith Keener and his wife, Racheal of Guys Mills. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Marvin “Mouse” and Agnes “Aggie” Keener.
In honoring Kevin’s memory, his family will announce services and memorial ceremonies this coming summer. For those who wish to celebrate his life, memorial donations can be directed to Ryan M.
