Peggy Kilgore

May 10, 1942 ~ November 4, 2025

Born in: Franklin, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Franklin, Pennsylvania

Margaret “Peggy” Mae Kilgore, 83, of Franklin passed away after an extended illness at the Collins House with her family at her side on November 4th, 2025.

Born on May 10, 1942 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Lois I. (Edy) O’Brien. Home was Oak Hill until she met and married the love of her life, Lawrence D. Kilgore on April 15, 1966 and then he preceded her in death on January 31, 2013. After his death, Peggy moved to Colonial Manor of Franklin where she made so many friends and lived there until her recent decline in health.

She was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church and recently attended Christ Church of Franklin.

Peggy loved building her home and enjoying the country living with her husband, family, and friends. She was known to attend activities or walk in the beautiful parks in and around Franklin. As a social butterfly, she was thrilled with meeting new people and getting to know them. Many times, she would go to Sugarcreek Station and The Caring Place just to visit with the residents.

Left to cherish her memory is her stepson Jim Kilgore and his wife, Pam, of Polk; her nephews who were like sons to her, Don Foster of Cooperstown and Dick McVay of Kansas City, KS; her special cousin, Shelly Weller, who was like a daughter; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by those who enjoyed her company such as her close lifelong friends Shirley Deeter, Norma Lepley, and Patty Osborn; another good friend Karen Wood; and her many friends from Oak Hill.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, DeWayne Kilgore; her step-son Bob Kilgore; her granddaughter Ann Marie Kilgore; her grandson Michael; and her sister, Betty Foster.

Guests are invited to Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, November 6th from 4 pm – 8 pm and Friday, November 7th from 10 am until the funeral service starts at 11 am with Pastor Kenneth Duffee, pastor of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, officiating.

Peggy will be laid to rest next to her husband in Franklin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Peggy’s name to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 S. Main Street, Seneca, PA 16346 and Precious Paws Animal Rescue, PO Box 784, Franklin, PA 16323.
