James "Jim" Michael Prichard

James “Jim” Michael Prichard, 77, of Franklin passed away on November 1, 2025 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, with his family at his side.

Born in the family homestead in Franklin on December 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Francis A. and Geraldine (Smith) Prichard.

Jim was a graduate of Franklin High School. He retired from Joy Manufacturing as a draftsman after working there for many years.

When he was able, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.  He was well known for having an immaculately clean vehicle.  He enjoyed mowing his yard to perfection. Most of all, he enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.  Family was everything to him and Karen and they often would hold family picnics at their home.

Jim leaves behind his wife of 56 years, the former Karen Keely, who survives; his son Jim Prichard, Jr. of Mentor, OH; his grandchildren Sarah Prichard of the University of Miami at Ohio, Colin Prichard who is a senior at Mentor High School, and Emma Prichard from Memorial Middle School in Mentor, OH; his siblings Debra Haylett and her husband, Niel of Franklin, John Prichard of West Springfield; his brother-in-law William Keely of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Stacey Prichard, his sister Sandy Robson, and his brother-in-law Tim Keely.

Guests are invited to Jim’s funeral service at Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, November 6th at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Darrell Greenawalt officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s memory to Shriner’s Children’s of Erie, 1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505.

  12. Uncle Jim was so FUN. I have a million memories of staying at your house. I never wanted to leave. He used to pick on me all the time. Everyone said he wouldn’t pick on you if he didn’t like you. I thought WOW HE MUST LOVE ME. I really loved him.
