Sandra “Sandy” A. Elder, 71, of Union City, PA, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on July 15, 1954, Sandy was the daughter of Merle Graham and Betty Parkhurst Graham Sherman.
Sandy was married to Carl W. Elder on July 9, 1983, who sadly preceded her in death on March 26, 2024. She was a proud graduate of Wattsburg High School and spent many fulfilling years as a telephone operator with Verizon. Sandy was actively involved in her community, being a member of the Union City Moose Lodge and the Union City American Legion.
Family was everything to Sandy. She cherished every moment spent with her daughters, Tammy Nunemaker of Mill Village and Laurie Rohrer of Clymer, New York, as well as her son, John Elder of Erie. Sandy was also a proud grandmother to Jeff, Alicia, Nichole, Michael, Alexis, Jonathan, and Madalyn, and enjoyed every second with them; a sister, Linda Hawkinson of Erie; two brothers, Randy Graham of Florida and Martin Graham of Erie; and a dear friend, Debbie Scheuer of Girard.
There will be no formal services held at this time.
Private burial will take place in Lawn Cemetery of Beaverdam.

Sandy was my second cousin. My parents and I would go up for a visit on Sundays after church. She and her siblings and I had fun playing together always. My sincere sympathy to the family.
