Born in: Medina, Ohio
Resided in: Meadville, Pennsylvania

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of V. Gail Lobdell, of Meadville, formerly of Townville, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, on May 10, 2025, at the age of 87 surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 21, 1938, in Medina, Ohio, Gail was the cherished youngest daughter of Ivan Lyle Barton and Ethel Blanche Luzier. She brought joy and love to many throughout her life and she embraced anyone who came into her life.

Gail was a proud graduate of Townville High School, class of 1956, where she has enjoyed attending every reunion held, connecting with others throughout the years. She dedicated her life to her family, embracing the role of a devoted mother, homemaker, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loving friend. At times throughout her life she was involved in a variety of different work activities including working and running the family farm, and serving as a substitute for Maplewood Head Start. Her passion for nurturing and letting others know she cared, was evident by her unending love and support for those around her. She was widely known for the many personalized notes and cards she would send to let you know that she was thinking of you.

Through-out her life, Gail was a woman of strength and determination beyond measure. Those who met her were left with a lasting impression of quiet dignity and elegance. Her strength was quiet and reserved, but she had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. She loved spending time outdoors, reading, creating decorative rocks, listening to music, dining out, shopping, and enjoying the excitement of the horse races. She had a love of animals and never met a stray that she did not take care of. She cherished hosting tea parties, particularly for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved summer events and was a lifetime attendee of the Crawford County Fair and Townville Old Home Days. One of her greatest pleasures was gathering with family and friends creating memories to last a lifetime, where her love and warmth lit up every room. She was known for a love of the holidays where she created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere that was never forgotten by those attending. Above all, Gail loved life!!!

Gail’s legacy lives on through her devoted companion, Jim Fiely, of Meadville, her daughter Melissa L. Ferguson (Greg) of Harrisville, PA, and her three sons: Terry A. Lobdell and Barry L. Lobdell (fiancé Emily Holes), both of Townville, and Joseph R. Lobdell (Kelly) of Meadville. She will be lovingly and fondly be remembered by her grandchildren, Andrea Martinson (Aaron), Tyler Lobdell, Lacey Ferrara (Kyle), Sophia Lobdell, Benjamin Lobdell, Stacey Templin (Jared), and Jon Ferguson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Valentino, Evelyn, and Olindo Ferrara, Joy Martinson, and Ethan and Natalie Templin. Gail is also lovingly survived by her special friend and former daughter-in-law, Vera Woods, several beloved nieces and nephews, her beloved life-time friend, Beverly Arthur, and the Fiely family.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Larry W. Lobdell, her sister Lila Hollabaugh, her brother Bill Barton, and great-grandson Ezekiel Martinson-each leaving a void in her heart that was deeply felt.

A time for family and friends to celebrate Gail’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home, 33353 N. Main Street, Townville.
