Gloria Jacobs Wilkinson, 91, of Polk passed away on May 29, 2024 at the Collins House with her family at her side. Born on January 14, 1933 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Martsolf) Cratty.
After graduating high school, Gloria obtained her RN nursing degree at Butler memorial hospital in 1954. She continue her education earning Master Degree’s in Clinical Psychology/ Counseling and Nursing Education. She worked for 45 years at various hospitals, universities, and extended care facilities. She was very proud of her accomplishments.
She married Merle Lavern Jacobs in 1954 and they spent over 40 years together until his passing in September 1996. She later met Floyd Wilkinson and they were married in 2000. They spent 15 winters in Arizona and enjoyed visiting many famous sites during the 26 trips across the United States. He passed away on July 2017.
She attended Polk United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Turner and husband, Mike, of Utica, Brenda Shankel and her husband, James, of Mars, and Mary Beth Heffern and her husband, Brian, of Franklin; her grandchildren, Ryan Turner and his wife, Saddie, of Franklin, Amy Doyle and her husband, Chad, of Franklin, Scott Shankel of Mars, PA, and Leigh Ann Shankel of Mars, PA; her great-grandchildren Skylynn Rex, Kaycee Jolley, Evan Turner, Jozi Turner, and Morgan Turner; and her great-great grandson, Matty Rex. She is further survived by her siblings, Joy Grossman of Harlansburg, PA and Ronald Moyer and his wife, Carolyn, of Zelionople and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amy Jo Jacobs and a brother, Art Cratty.
Services are private for the family and arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.
Gloria will be laid to rest at Log Cemetery, Barkeyville.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Venango VNA Foundation (Hospice Foundation), 491 Allegheny Blvd, Franklin, PA 16323 and/or the Polk Volunteer Fire Company, 710 Main St. Polk Pa, 16342.
