  3. Tom & I are so sorry for your loss of John. We will remember the fun times when he visited Virginia. Especially the games we would play at the dinner table and his deep laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you right now. He is gone from your sights, but never from your hearts! God bless all of you. Ida & Tom Thornton

  4. It was truly an honor to get to meet and spend time with the dad behind one the most amazing people I know, Savannah. We got to share beer, pepperoni rolls, and many a game of pegs and jokers. Thanks for your support over the last few years.

  6. To Sandy: I have so many good memories of John as a wonderful hockey dad and easy-going friend. I’m sorry you’ve lost your life’s partner; I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. So I’ll just send you a big hug and hopes for peace and comfort.

  7. To Savannah and Krista: YOU two are the reason I ever even knew your dad, so thank you. I remember him as my kind hockey friend. I’m sorry you’ve lost him. Losing my dad made me feel kind of unprotected and rudderless, so I hope you can find protection and guidance in your other family members. May God bless you with peace and comfort.

  8. To the Varner family, John will truly be missed. I always thought of John as “My Big Brother”. And i will miss him as if he was. Very fond memories of years of hanging out and having fun. He always made me smile.
