Eleanor Rose Weed-Wilcox Strojny, 96, of Union City, passed away, Thursday, September 7, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 26, 1927, to the late Franklin Weed and Cecil (Smith) Weed. She was one of seven children with four brothers and two sisters. She wed her beloved husband, Glennard Wilcox on April 27, 1944 and was married for 34 years. They were blessed with 5 children: Allen Wilcox (Linda), Richard Wilcox (Carol), Gay Brown (Jack), Vanmark Wilcox, and Darlene Pieper Campbell (Larry).
Rose started working at age fifteen and worked until her retirement from Union City Cherry Hill. She then came out of retirement and worked for the Brown Thompson Newspaper for several years. Rose was a hardworking, selfless, God-fearing women who everyone loved and respected. She was an amazing cook and would shower her family with baked goods on birthdays and holidays. Rose was famous for her bread pudding, meringue pies, and egg sandwiches.
Rose was a faithful member of the Union City Church of the Nazarene for seventy-three years, where she met her second husband Howard Strojny. They wed on July 3, 1982 and were happily married for 27 years. Rose has been blessed with twelve grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and nineteen great great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings; husband's, Glennard and Howard; her sons Allen, Richard, and infant son, Vanmark, daughter-in-law Linda; son-in-law's, Bud and Jack, grandsons, Stephen and Manny; and great great-granddaughter Norah.
Rose is survived by her two daughters, Gay and Darlene, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Rose will be sorrowfully missed by her family, church family, and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 11th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Union City Church of the Nazarene, 119 S. Main Street, Union City. The funeral service will follow at 6:00pm with Rev. George Tutor and Rev. Shannon Hannah, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are invited to stay after for fellowship and to share fond memories of Rose.

I’m so sorry to hear about Aunt Rose’s passing! I loved her dearly! I always remember when she would see me in church she would always give me a hug and kiss on the cheek. She was a wonderful Godly woman! She will be missed!
Eleanor was my first partner at Cherry Hill when I started. Together we built alot of chairs. She was such a hard worker. She was alot of fun to be around.
