Where did the nickname Timmy Toes come from? Most of the details I can remember like it was yesterday.
Hot August day Tim, Ed, Dad and I were repairing the roof shingles. Tim was about 10 years old. This particular spot in the roof leaked frequently and Dad was all too familiar. Today he employed the strong backs of his three sons.
At some point during the day Grandma Montgomery pulled into the driveway. As she approached the house looking up and greeting each of the hard workers. “Hello boys”, How’s the repair coming? “Timmy Toes you be careful up there”.
And so, it was written – I called him Timmy Toes for the next 45 years. I don’t think he was ever really flattered with the title, but he allowed me to address him this way.
Love you Bother, going to miss you and this aged title!!
My deepest condolence to the Montgomery family. May you find comfort in the coming days and cherished memories to forever hold on to.
The Hughes family has many great memories of Tim, but the one that stands out the most, and we still talk about is, during the week of the Rocky Grove Fair we would go to their house and visit on the front porch to watch the people walking by, have a beer and enjoy a hot sausage sandwiches that Tim would cook on the grill. But one year, Tim might have had one too many beers and he had started a fire in their fire pit outback and I’m guessing he wanted it to be a much bigger fire, so as Karen and I were sitting on the back porch steps, Tim walked by with a small gas can, I looked at Karen and said “do you think that’s a good idea?” her reply was “you can’t stop him” and we had a giggle as we watched over him and just as we thought, he tossed the gas on the fire and a big wave of flames shot up. When Tim turned around, the fire had singed off his eye lashes and eyebrows and his hair that was once parted neatly down the middle had morphed into what looked like a big handlebar mustache right on top of his forehead.
Even though he was a quiet and soft spoken person, he always found a way to make us laugh, either on purpose or, in this case, accidently!
Rest in peace Tim, until we meet again!

Tim was gracious enough to keep my furbabies safe when they got out. This was about two weeks ago. I have known Tim most of my life and it was a nice greeting as we have not seen each other in years and did not realize we were neighbors.
Prayers to his family and friends. Be free, Tim. Fly with the best….
So sorry for your loss. He will be missed by many. Carla Bingman Drake
My deepest sympathies to Betty, Jim, Marci, and the rest of the extended Montgomery family. And also to Traci, Scott, and Tom who were true friends to Tim. I hold fond memories of Tim over the many years I’ve known him – he often showed up out of the blue to camp outings at Big Sandy, sitting around a fire at his or Traci’s house debating music or some other random life topic, and even dancing the night away to a band at Sugar Lake. He was quiet, kind, and knew a lot about a lot of things. Rest easy, Tim.
