Frank Wayne Ohler, 89, of Polk , passed away at Sugar Creek Station Rehabilitation Facility on Monday, February 21, 2022 The son of the late Frank A Ohler and Grace Mildred Ray Ohler, he was born May 12, 1932 at the home of his grandparents, T.B. and Lena Shannon Ohler, on Georgetown Road in Frenchcreek Township. Wayne attended one-room schools through the eighth grade. He graduated from Sandy Lake High School in 1950 with an emphasis in agriculture. Wayne was married on June 10, 1955 to Elsa L. Knight at the Reynolds Methodist Church. They were married 67 years. From the first time he brought the cows in from the pasture to be milked, he was involved in farming. At first, he was in partnership with his father. The very best years were when his partner was his son, Michael. Wayne and his son were born to farm. Wayne wore many hats -electrician, plumber, mechanic, welder, machine operator, sawyer on his own sawmill, and carpenter. He built his own house and many farm buildings. He remodeled his sister's and daughter's houses. With all of his talents and skills, Wayne's passion was to farm. He explored many farming methods from raising animals to growing corn. In later years, his job was running the corn drying complex. Wayne was a perfectionist who loved solving complex or simple problems. Surviving are a son, Michael Wayne Ohler of Polk, and his wife Sandra; and a daughter, Kathleen Grace Ohler Service of Sandy Lake and her husband Monty. Also surviving are seven grandchildren - Matthew Ohler of Maryland, Jason Ohler and his wife, Ellie of Ohio, Bethany (Ohler) Drelick and her husband, Joe of Franklin; and Erin Ohler of Polk; Montgomery Service and his wife, Marie, of Lake City PA; Maxwell Service of Hawaii, and Lucas Service of Washington. Wayne has five great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Dorothy Garlick of Jackson Center, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Reisinger and Lois Wilkinson; and one brother, Paul Ohler. In keeping with his wishes, final arrangements are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.
