Della Isabelle Emmons, 90, of Polk, passed away at 12:50 AM , Friday, November 08, 2013 at UPMC- Horizon, Greenville. Born April 15, 1923 in Utica, Della was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Gadsby) Ohler. She was married to Robert Emmons, Sr., who preceded her in death. Della was retired from Polk Center where she had worked for over 35 years. She was a supervisor for many of those years. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with the news. Her greatest passion was making pies. Della is survived by her brother, Floyd Lawrence Ohler and his wife, Faye, of Polk; her niece, Mary Ohler of Polk; and her nephews, David Gibbons and his wife, Melody, of Cochranton, and John Ohler of Polk. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Gibbons. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Tuesday, November 12th, 2013, from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. Funeral services will be held following visitation at the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. Interment will be in Lupher Chapel Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 737 Elk Street, Franklin, PA, 16323; and/or Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301. We are very sorry to hear of Aunt Isabelle passing. She was Dave’s moms best friend. We celebrated many birthdays together, where April birthdays were so common. Chuck, Dave’s Aunt Isabelle’s, Heather, and Justin Gibbons, also. When mom passed away so young, it seemed we lost touch over the years, but always in touch by phone from time to time. But we always remember the many years together, and look forward to seeing them all again in heaven, for all time. We will miss you.. The Gibbons Family.
