Shirley Lea Eaton

Shirley Lea Eaton, 72, of Franklin passed away on Thursday, March 17th at 1:07 p.m. at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.Born October 29th, 1943, Shirley was the daughter of the late Walter and Charlotte Shull Chapin. On September 16, 1963, Shirley married Boyd Eaton, Sr. who preceded her in death.Shirley retired in 2000 from the Venango County Courthouse, where she worked as a custodian. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Franklin. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved her pets dearly. She always cherished the time spent with family.Shirley is survived by her son: Boyd A. Eaton, Jr. of Franklin; her daughter, Karen Lea Shaw, and her fiancee, Jeff Howard, Franklin; her two grandchildren: Dustin Shaw, and his wife, Ashley, of Knox and Garrett Shaw of Sandy Lake; her great-grandchildren, Gracelyn and Weston Shaw; her brother, Ronald Chapin, and his wife, Sue, of Henry's Bend; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd, who passed away on April 17, 2003; her 3 brothers: Thomas, Melvin, and James Chapin; her sister: Phyllis Welton; and her son, Floyd A. Eaton.The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Venango County Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301.Friends and family will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin on Monday, March 21st from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 21st at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Karen Parsh, pastor of the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Knox, officiating.
