Clair Raymond Foster, 84, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, April 4th at 6:11 a.m. at the Countryside Nursing Home in Mercer. Born June 20, 1931, Clair was the son of Ralph Dewey and Maude Faye Adams Foster. On December 30, 1954, Clair married Charlotte Maxine Jolley, who survives. Clair retired from Joy Manufacturing, where he was a production planner and was a Korean Era US Army veteran. He was a member of the Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He loved his flowers.In addition to his wife, Clair is survived by his children: Jill (Foster) Delaney, and her husband, Dick; Carole (Foster) Rugh, and her husband, Butch; LuAnne (Foster) Snyder, and her husband, Tim; and Stephen Foster, and his wife, Rebecca. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including his special niece, Kelly McNerney, and her husband, Don, of Newark, OH; 9 grandchildren, including Lacie (Snyder) Rea, and her husband, Grant, Brett Snyder, Jacob & Logan Foster; and 20 great grandchildren including Gavin Rea.He is additionally survived by his brother, Ralph Foster, of Franklin; his sister, Mary Jane Towers, and her husband, Paul, of Franklin; his sister, Lois Fehrs of VA; and his sister, Lucille Shawgo of Grove City.Clair was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Jean Stellman, Margaret Harley, Nancy Foster, Clyde Foster, and Paul Foster.Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15235-5507.A memorial service will be held on May 28th at 1:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, 160 Atlantic Avenue in Franklin.
