Marjorie M. Daley, 64 of Hollmarc Blvd., Franklin died at 12:40 pm on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, PA. Born September 13, 1947 in Franklin, she was the daughter of J. Paul and Geraldine Freeman McCarthy. Raised in Rocky Grove, she graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1965 where she was a J.V. and Varsity Cheerleader for 6 years. She earned a degree from Duff's Business College in Pittsburgh and later worked as a secretary for Chicago Pneumatic Tool. Margie stopped working to raise her family and finished her career as the business manager for Tomax Inc. in Sandy Lake, PA. She joined First United Methodist Church in Franklin becoming a member of the confirmation class of 1959. In 1960, she was selected as a member of Rainbow Girls and was elected as Worthy Advisor in 1963. Margie was married on October 26, 1968 to Charles J. Daley who survives. Also surviving are her two sons, Joseph A. Daley of Franklin and T.J. Daley and his wife, Stephanie of Chapin, South Carolina; three brothers, Thomas P. McCarthy, of Bartow, FL, John R. McCarthy, and his wife, Veronica, of Lordstown, OH, and Larry J. McCarthy of Grove City; two grandchildren, Daniel Jacob and Elizabeth Charlize Daley, both of Chapin, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Franklin First United Methodist Church, Liberty Street, Franklin. The Rev. Jeff Little will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude's Children Hospital in her name.
