James W. Rodebaugh Jr. James Rodebaugh Jr., 41, of Arbor Circle, Franklin, passed away at 6:37 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born August 8, 1968 in Franklin, he was the son of James and Joyce Lawson Rodebaugh, Sr. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, antique cars, and the out-of-doors. Most of all, he cherished the time that he spent with his children. In addition to his parents, James is survived by his son, Jesse Rodebaugh; and his daughters, Amanda and Stephanie Rodebaugh, all of Franklin; his brother, David Rodebaugh, and his wife, Lisa of Conover, North Carolina; and his sister, Victoria L. O'Malley, and her husband, Michael of West Sunbury. He is also survived by his niece, Kelly O'Malley and his nephews, Matthew and Patrick O'Malley, all of West Sunbury. James was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Geraldine Rodebaugh; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Adelia Lawson; and his uncle, Larry Rodebaugh. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. 1315 Chestnut on Saturday, June 26 from 10 to 11 am. A Memorial Service for James will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Morgan, presiding. James Wesley Rodebaugh, 66, of Old Route 8, Polk, died peacefully at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice Center. Born October 26, 1945 in Franklin, PA, he was the son of late Carl Wesley and Geraldine Detrie Rodebaugh. James was married on April 5, 1965 to the former Joyce E. Lawson, who survives. Mr. Rodebaugh proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Era Veteran. He was employed at the Pennzoil Refinery in Rouseville working in maintenance and instrument calibration until his retirement in 2002. James enjoyed little road trips with his wife, Joyce. He loved fishing with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, to share with all. James was a dedicated husband to his wife of 46 years and a loving father to his three children. He was a kind and loving grandfather and will be missed greatly. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his son, David Rodebaugh and his wife, Lisa of Conover, NC; daughter, Victoria L. O'Malley and her husband, Michael of West Sunbury, PA; 6 grandchildren, Jesse, Amanda and Stephanie Rodebaugh, all of Franklin and Matthew, Patrick, and Kelly O'Malley all of West Sunbury. James was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James W. Rodebaugh, Jr.; and his brother, Larry Rodebaugh. Friends will be received at the Second Presbyterian Church, 111 Reed Street, Oil City, on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City, with the Rev. Tom Morgan of the Sharon Baptist Church of Hermitage and the Rev. Dr. Jannie Swart of the Oil City Second Presbyterian Church, co-officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. The family suggests memorials be made to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001. Arrangements are being handled by the Gardiner Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.   1. I’m sorry to read of your family’s loss. I never met James but spent an afternoon with his mother, Geraldine, during a genealogical research trip to Franklin in 1984. I’m related to your family through Geraldine’s mother, Irma (Pryer) Detrie. During that visit to Geraldine’s home, I also met one of her grandsons (James or David) but don’t recall which one. Again, I’m sorry for your loss.

Jim was not only my Brother-in-Law he was a long time and best friend of mine.We did so many great things together growing up I can’t even name them all most of all he was my fishing buddy, I will sure miss him I loved him so very much, he is in a better place now, RIP my dear friend Jim I will always be thinking of you!
