Christopher Duane Tate, 51 of Meadville, Pa, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2021 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania. Born on February 12, 1969 in Franklin, Christopher was the son of Samuel Tate and the late Laura Rutherford Tate, who preceded him in death on October 24, 2017. Christopher attended school in the Franklin Area School District. Christopher was a quiet and gentle soul, who loved spending time with his family and his numerous friends. He was known to walk throughout Franklin visiting with and talking with people along the way. He was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan who loved to harass Steeler fans and also enjoyed playing video games with friends and online acquaintances.Christopher leaves behind his father, Samuel Tate; his brothers; Jeffrey Tate and his significant other, Shirley Mosier, of Meadville, Curtis Tate and his wife, Susan, of Carnegie, Terry Tate and his wife, Elizabeth (Pudgy), of Franklin; his sister, Sue Tate of Oil City; his three nephews, Curtis Tate of Akron, OH, Brandon and Christian Tate, who are sons of Terry and Elizabeth Tate; and his niece, Tasia Tate, and her daughters, Taylynn, Zarianna, and Nyla.In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no public visitation. Funeral services for Christopher will be held privately for the family with his brother, Elder Curtis Tate, officiating. Christopher will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. A livestream of Christopher's funeral service will be broadcast on the funeral home's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/gardinierfuneralhome beginning at 11 am on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. For those that wish to receive a notification when the services begin, it is recommended that intended watchers "Like" the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc.'s Facebook page for any updates.The funeral home will have social distancing protocols in place and strongly recommends those who are attending to wear masks.   2. Chris I’ve known since we were children. We grew up in their ward . Those days were the best. Went to highschool together one of the nicest people I have ever known. Rest in peace.

I fondly remember our high school days, YMCA dances and just hanging out at Sheetz, talking and joking! Chris made me try my first pork rind! I know he will be greatly missed. I can still see young Chris, in the park, his face beaming as his laughter rang out, drawing the attention of passers-by! I imagine there are many who will remember him that way. I lift you all in my thoughts and prayers. May you gain comfort in knowing he has gone to join his mama’s loving arms, to sit at the feet of our gentle and merciful Savior.

  9. Chris and I met when we were teenagers at the laundromat on Grant Street. He introduced me to his friends Larry and John. Every weekend he’d come down to see me and talk since I went to the Grove. We had get laughs and talks. You will be missed dearly good friend.

  13. I grew up with Chris in the third ward we rode the same bus . Chris was a best friend of my cousin Larry. Chris always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed harassing me that’s for sure! RIP bud! You earned your wings! You’ll be missed!

  15. My memories of Chris go way back to when we were children as Aunt Lynn & Uncle Sam used to pick us up for church. Chris & I would sneak out of Sunday school and go to the candy store. As teenagers we joined the YMCA DJ Club together. We hung out in the radio station spinning records together and on the weekends we dj’d dances together at the Y and on occasion we also did it at Easter Seals for the residents. Chris loved the joy we brought them.

  18. I first met Chris when I was probably eight or nine years old. At that time the family lived in what they call the hollow by 3rd Street in Franklin. We remain friends from then on even though at that time he hit me in the head with a rock. We grew up together and had lots of good times. He will be truly missed hand I would like to offer prayers to his family.
