Laura V. Bennett, 91, formerly of Cooperstown, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home in Trafford, PA on Saturday, September 21, 2019.Born April 21, 1928 in Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Martha (Reese) Shea. On May 18, 1948, she married Howard W. Bennett; he preceded her in death on May 19, 1993.Laura spent her life focusing on raising her loving family and was always warm and sincere, especially to her loved ones. She was always there for you if you needed her and she cared deeply for her friends and family. Laura also enjoyed being outdoors, especially to tend to her gardens and lawn, and liked to listen to country and religious music.Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda Fornataro of Trafford, PA; her 13 grandchildren, Tony Bergamasco, Lorie Cuccaro, Rainey Ockas, Charles Mitchell, Jamie Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Shawn Mitchell, Heather Greer, Mike Dobrick, George Dobrick, Elisa Miller, Jodi Emery, and Christina Pollino; her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Callahan.In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by her two sons, William H. Bennett, and Charles Mitchell; her daughter, Lois Jones Bennett; her grandson, William Bennett; and her son-in-law, Edward Fornataro.Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323, from 11 am to 12 pm (noon).Funeral services for Laura will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 26, 2019, starting at 12 pm (noon), with Reverend David Smith, pastor of the Franklin First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.Laura will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.To send flowers, cards, online condolences, or for further information, family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
