Lois M. Morford, 94, of Franklin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early afternoon on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Sugar Creek Station.Born March 5, 1925 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Minnie Bell (Carey) Haylett. She was an elementary graduate from the Raymilton School, graduated from the Sandy Lake High School in 1943, and attended the Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts.On April 6, 1947, she married Otis O. Smith; he preceded her in death. She later married Reverend Eugene Morford on August 11, 1984; he also preceded her in death.For over 25 years, Lois worked at Riverside Supermarket as a Meat Wrapper and Scaler. Lois was a woman of the church and proud of her faith. Along with being a charter member of the Franklin First Church of the Nazarene, she also held many positions within the church. She was a Sunday School teacher and secretary, a steward, a missionary president, the church secretary for 37 years, and was also the president of the local Nazarene Youth International. She also belonged to the Venango Oilers Camping Club.Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lois Jane Liptak and her husband, Stephen, and Judy Heath and her husband, Joseph, both of Florida, and Sandra Peterson and her husband, Jerry, of Franklin; her nine grandchildren, John, Susan, Dan, and James Liptak, Joelle, Joseph, and Jonathan Heath, Corey and Nathan Peterson; and her six great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by first husband, Otis O. Smith; her second husband, Rev. Eugene Morford; her six brothers, William P., Clarence B., Dale, Elmer, Daryl, and James R. Haylett; her one infant brother; her two sisters, Mary May Cress Clark, and Catherine SmithFamily and friends will be received on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Franklin First Church of the Nazarene, 393 Pone Lane, Franklin, PA 16323 from 2 pm to 4 pm.Funeral services for Lois will be held at the church on Friday, October 18, 2019 starting at 4 pm, with Reverend David Smith, pastor of the church, officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Lois's honor to the Franklin First Church of the Nazarene, 393 Pone Lane, Franklin, PA 16323.Lois will be laid to rest at Millcreek Cemetery.To send flowers, cards, online condolences, or for further information, family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
