Jeffrey Paul Aiken, 50, of Oil City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.He was born on August 17, 1968 in Franklin, to his mother, Sherry Aiken.Jeffrey was a graduate of Franklin High School and received an Associates Degree from Rosedale Technical Institute.Jeffrey worked as a Service Adviser for Day Ford, Boindi Lincoln/Mercury, and many others. He also worked for FedEx as an Independent Contractor, as owner of J & J Aiken, Inc. In his spare time, Jeffrey lived his life with vibrancy. He was so proud to have spent time as a Torpedomans Mate 2nd Class aboard the U.S.S. Hyman G. Rickover 709 Nuclear Submarine. He was a member of the VFW Jesse G. Greer Post 1835 and the Moose Lodge #83. Jeffrey also loved watching his favorite sports (NASCAR, Pittsburgh Penguin hockey and Pittsburgh Steelers football), and playing poker. Jeffrey was known to be a good friend and loved his family, friends, and coworkers. He was most proud of his son, Jarrett, and cherished the time he spent with him.In addition to his mother, Jeffrey is survived by his son, Jarrett Paul Aiken and Jarrett's mother, Kristin L. Aiken, both of Murrysville, PA; his aunts, Paula Harrah and Joyce Carbaugh Aiken; and his cousins, Shawn Harrah (Vickie), Tammy Aiken Rodgers (Mike), Kellie Aiken Miller (Jason), and Eric Aiken; and his girlfriend, Darla Wright;Jeffrey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard F. and Ruth E. Aiken; his infant twin sons; his uncles, Charles A. Aiken and Richard E. Aiken, and his great-grandmother, Gladys A. Steele.Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA , from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.Funeral services for Jeffrey will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., starting at 1 pm, with Reverend Darrell Greenawalt, pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. We graduated Rosedale technical institute together and remained friends for many years and me and Cheryl Heard Henry was a part of your wedding day and proud to support you and her. I tried to get back with Cheryl but to no avail but you and Kristen still supported me and made me a better person . I can’t believe you are gone. I’m sorry I can’t make it to the veiwing or funeral but you will always be in my heart and mind. Till we meet again from Cheryl and I. God speed my friend.

  4. I met Jeff when he started delivering to my work. He was always smiling and so happy. After he found out that I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, he would tell me stories from when he lived down there. Once his business grew, I didn’t see him too much. I miss will his humor, his laugh, and his love for life. RIP Jeff.

  7. Our entire company is shocked and saddened by the loss of such a great guy. His personality was over the top. He always had a funny story or joke that would just make your day. But no matter what was going on, Jeff always took care of his customers/clients. We will all miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Darla and his family as they struggle through this tragedy.

  9. I was so shocked of Jeff’s passing. I work at the Rouse Estate in Youngsville, Pa. He had been our FedEx driver for years. He always had a smile. And of course a joke. He took great pride in his job. He will be missed. Brenda Dean

  14. Sherry, Janine Sheatz here—I remember when you and I were pregnant for our boys. We went to the Rockey Grove Fair together and were walking around. You wore a parka over your shirt and you couldn’t even tell you were pregnant!! I on the other hand was as big as a house. I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine losing my son. I wanted to come to the funeral home and pay my respects/ see you and speak to you personally, but the roads are terrible and they say they are going to be worse later. I hope you will contact me so we may see each other and catch up later. I would love that Sherry—It ‘s been forever since I’ve seen you. I am again so sorry you lost your Boy.   16. Losing a Father, Son, Friend or Shipmate is never easy. Jeff was a Sea story in action always embellishing on his own stories.
