Bobby was always a joy to be around. As a youngster, living in Chicago, and visiting Pennsylvania several times a year, I could always count on seeing Bob’s Mom Aunt Mary and her contagious smile along with her joyful attitude that clearly rubbbed off on Bobby. What a special blessing it was for me and all who encountered Bobby throughout his lifetime to see how the Lord created this special man that didn’t fret over the busyness of life, keeping things simple and reminding me of what Jesus said in Matthew chapter 18 verses 2 & 3 “ He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Bobby: your life was a life worth living- well done old friend, I only wish I told you that and gave you a hug every time I saw you over all those years. Michael Bliss Omaha, Nebraska Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
It’s August 29, 2020, and I was fondly remembering you Bobby, & your mother, my Great Aunt Mary (Semler) Yasinski. I went searching to find your whereabouts and found your obituary from March 2019. All of your cousins loved seeing you at family gatherings. If ever there was a Saint on Earth, it was your Mom, who never said a negative thing about anyone, and who was the most optimistic person I’ve known to this day. You & your brother & sister were all part of that sacred contract to experience a depth of love that most humans would never appreciate. I vividly remember you always dressed nicely, smiling, absolutely loving music & your radio. Occasionally enjoying “pop” as we called soft drinks or sodas in the Pittsburgh region. And you had more rhythm than the rest of the Semler clan and extended families. I’m sorry our paths separated over time, as I went off to college and moved from Pittsburgh to West Virginia briefly than San Francisco permanently since 1987. But you were always in my heart. I regret that I never got to meet your siblings. By now I’m sure you are reunited with your family who also have transitioned from this physical world, and you can see the growth and love from your lifetime. The rest of us are still here plugging along. I’m grateful to have found your tribute wall and will continue to send you loving energy. You touched my life and many others in profound ways by just being you. Keep on dancing my friend. Fondly, Gary Virginia (son of the late Margaret Louise Virginia of Gibsonia, PA) San Francisco, CA 94114
