Ruth E. Coffey, 89, of Franklin, died peacefully at her home on October 11, 2017 at 7:30am surrounded by her family, to be with the Lord.Born October 10, 1928 in Franklin, Ruth was the daughter of the late Melvin E. and Rhoda M. Hazlett Kightlinger. She married Roy T. Coffey on February 14, 1947, and he preceded her death on November 16, 2013. They were happily married for 66 years. She retired in 1988 after working 25 years as a cook at Polk Center.She enjoyed mowing the lawn, taking care of her flowers, shopping, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her cat "Missy". Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Judy D. Harry, Barbara Shaderline, and Karen Blair, and her husband, George, all of Franklin. Her sister Gladys Alt of Franklin. Her brother-in-law; Norman Coffey and his wife Lois of Franklin. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: William Cunningham of Franklin; Joyce (Cunningham) Grassmeyer; Richard Shaderline and his wife, Rebecca; Robert Shaderline of Franklin; Troy Blair and his wife, Kolly of Powhatan, VA., and Latisha Melendez and her husband, Luis of Schertz, TX. and her 14 great-grandchildren and her 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her two sons-in-law, William Harry and Frank Shaderline. Family and Friends are invited to visit Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin PA on Friday October 13, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Randy Kightlinger, Venango County VNA Hospice Chaplain and Rev. James Flaherty, Pastor of Grace Community Bible Fellowship Church in Polk, Co-Officiating. Interment will be at Graham Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Franklin Alliance Church, 1200 Otter Street, Franklin PA 16323. Oh my goodness Karen. We are so sorry for you and your family. It want that long ago that you introduced her to me at Linda Lou’s I thought she was such a cutie. God bless you all.
