Charles C. Cherry, 78, of Utica, passed away suddenly at his home of natural causes on July 4, 2018.He was born to parents Russell and Ruby (Sutley) Cherry in Utica on November 10, 1939. Charles later married his wife, Barbara Kline and she survives.Charles was a welder for Joy Manufacturing for 51 years, but in his spare time he enjoyed a number of outdoor activities; he especially enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing. He also liked auctions and was a member of the Moose Club #83.In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his son, Rick L. Cherry and his wife, Kim, of Utica; his daughter-in-law, Dawn Cherry of Franklin; his grandchildren, Jordan Cherry and his wife, Ashley, of Franklin, Nicole Smith and her husband, George, of Franklin, Erica Cherry of Franklin, Candie Brown of Utica, and Christie Proper and her husband, Vincent, of Cooperstown; and his 8 great-grandchildren.Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ruby; his son Audie Clayton Cherry; his grandson, Jared Clayton Cherry; his brother, James Cherry; and his sister, Joanne Kline.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.Memorial services will be announced at a later date.To send cards, online condolences, or for general information, please visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com
