The passing of a Loved one leaves a feeling of emptiness that nothing seems capable of filling. Mary Alabaugh is my Grandmother, she passed away about an hour after I said my goodbyes to her.
After her passing lying awake in bed, I wondered how was I going to break the news to my oldest three Children (who are on Vacation with their Mom) then it hit me: Love is the answer.
My Grandmother lived a full and amazing life, she was always full of Love. No matter what strange issues might have come up she had an answer that was supported by her Love for our Family. Sometimes her responses and approach appeared a little radical on the surface. However, fundamentally her approach was always supported by her Love (much like a Mom bear protecting her cubs). With her passing I’m reminded of just how short our time on Earth is. The best way I can rejoice in her Life is to continue living mine, as my Grandma would have wanted us all to do.
I’m honored and truly blessed to have known my Grandmother. If I was asked to name one important thing she taught me, it would be: Love is a verb and as such it requires an action. Simply saying: “I Love You” isn’t enough in life. We need to show our Love for each other through our constant actions.
Rest in Peace Grandma, We Love you!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary & the family. She always spoke about how proud she was of all of you. It was a pleasure to share a few moments each day with her while striving to maintain good health during her golden years recoverying along side with our family needs. Friendship and the love of family was a constant thread of the many conversations we had . She was a great story teller and had great memories of the area old time businesses and places dear to her growing up and sharing her life with her husband and children. Thoughts and prayers for Mary and her big family…….

Mom always had her love of God to carry her thru the hard times and the pain she suffered. I am sad for all of us here on earth but my heart is happy, knowing she is with Jesus and her family. I hope Jeff and her are giving each other a hug right now. Take care of her Lord, we all loved her.
