Joan L. McGuire, 83, formerly of Franklin, passed away peacefully at 4:35 p.m. at her residence in Oil City on Thursday, April 27th surrounded by her loving family.Born November 16, 1933 in Franklin, Joan was the daughter of Clinton and Ruth Krepp Beers.Mrs. McGuire worked as a cook for the Idlewood Restaurant for many years. Prior to her retirement, she worked in housekeeping at the Quality Inn for more than 10 years. She was a member of Women of the Moose; enjoyed gardening and being outdoors; and spending time with her family.She is survived by her 3 sons, Mike Gregory and his wife, Cindy, of Sharpsville; Russell Gregory of Franklin; and Bill King and his wife, Michelle, of Franklin; and her 2 daughters, Diane Lawson and her husband, James, of Goodview VA; and Debbie Alden and her husband, Dennis, of Franklin.Joan is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, Luke Lawson and his wife, Patty; Peggie Bauer and her husband, Robert; Lisa Toscano, Mike Gregory, Jr. and his wife, Tonya; Brad Alden and his wife, Joie; Shawn Alden and his wife, Carrie; Justin Alden and his wife, Jamie; Russell Gregory, Jr. and his companion, Missy Kaputa; Matt Gregory, Danielle Hansen and her husband, Matt; Rikki Gregory and her companion, Rick Gorman; Dillion King; and Tiffany Van Tassell and her husband, John; and well as her 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.She is additionally survived by her brother, Gene Beers, of Franklin.In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bob "Bummer" Gregory; and her 3 sisters, Dee Greenlee, Maudie Gegogeine, and Wanetta Beers. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Alice Burchfield.As per Mrs. McGuire's request, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family.
