Elizabeth J. Hoffman, 92, of Franklin passed away at 2:25 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19th at the Caring Place in Franklin.Born June 18, 1923 in Franklin, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Clarence Byron and Lyda Mae Haggerty Turner. She was a 1943 graduate of Franklin High School.Elizabeth worked as a taxi driver for over 40 years at many different taxi services, the last being Baker Taxi. She also had worked at Joy in the mail room.Elizabeth was a member of the V.F.W. Jesse Greer Post #1835 and the Auxiliary of the VFW, where she was the chaplain. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and being with her friends and family. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elizabeth especially enjoyed baking at the holidays - her favorites were baking bread and fudge.Elizabeth is survived by her four sons: Edward Turner, and his wife, Audrey, of Oil City; Roger Turner, and his wife, Sonya, of Franklin; Robert Hoffman, and his wife Marcia, of Franklin; and Randy Hoffman, and his wife, Cindy, of Lake Park, GA; and her daughter, Vicki Stone, and her husband, Howard, of Franklin. She is also survived by her two sisters: Cleo Deeter, and her husband, Lauren, of Tidioute; and Hazel Whitcomb of Franklin.Elizabeth is further survived by her 14 grandchildren: Jason Turner, and his wife, Allison, of Franklin; Melissa Schill, and her husband, Chris, of Shippenville; Andrea Doyle, and her husband, Joshua, of Polk; Becky Trayer of Erie; Wallace Stone, and his fiance, Marci Hoover, of Franklin; Chad Stone, and his fiance Brittany Beveridge, of Franklin; Benjamin Turner of Raleigh, NC; Nicholas Hoffman, and his wife, Nichole, of Conneaut Lake; Jaime Harrell, and her husband, Brian, of Lake Park, GA; Heather Gleason of Lake Park, GA; Rob Eury, and his wife Teresa, of Venus; Lisa Hurlbert, and her husband, Steve, of Erie; Mathew Eury, and his wife Janice, of Raleigh, NC; and Howard Stone of Columbus, SC. Also surviving is Mrs. Dorothy Turner of Elko, NV, sister in law to Elizabeth and wife of deceased brother, Barney. She is also survived by her 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hoffman; her two brothers: James and Barney Turner; and her two sisters: Laura Lepley and Pearl Baum.Friends and family will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, on Friday, January 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 23, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Jones, retired minister, officiating.
