Dorothy Mae Wheeler, 94, of Franklin, passed away at 1:25 p.m. on January 31st, at Sugar Creek Station. Born April 27, 1922, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Morrison Mook.In 1962, Dorothy married Clyde Wheeler, who preceded her in death in 1996. Dorothy worked in the Dietary Department for Polk State School for 35 years. She attended the Polk Presbyterian Church. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, camping, and loved animals, especially cats and dogs.Dorothy is survived by her nieces and nephews, Sharon Bennett and her husband, David, of Franklin, Marilyn Ham, of Franklin, Roy Snyder and his wife, Pam, of Largo, FL, Robert Mook Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Polk, William Mook of Franklin, Patty Baker and her husband, Merle, of Franklin, Judy Miller and her husband, Robert, of SC; and many great-nieces and nephews.She is also survived by her step-children: Sandy McCool and her husband, Ed, Jerry Wheeler, and Delbert Wheeler and his wife, Angie. Dorothy is additionally survived by her sister, Ruth E. Snyder, of Polk, her sister-in-law, Mabel Mook of Franklin, and several step-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Mook, and Robert Mook and his wife, Nancy; her niece, Cheryl Rowland; her nephews, Donald Mook and Donald Snyder; and her nephew-in-law, James Ham.Family and friends will be received at Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, in Franklin, on Friday, February 3rd, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following visitation, there will be a funeral service held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Diane Whitman, pastor of the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church, officiating.
