Daniel L. Montgomery, 73, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, November 5th at 6:47 p.m. at the Meadville Medical Center. Dan was born October 15th, 1942 in Rocky Grove. He was the son of the late Hubert Earl and Helen Marie Boughner Montgomery. On September 11, 1961, Dan married GerKeta Eakin, who survives.Dan was a Peacetime veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a crane operator for Franklin Steel. Dan was a lifetime member of the Venango Coon and Fox Club and a lifetime member of the NRA. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and geocaching.In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by his son, Kenny C. Montgomery, and his wife, Dorothy of Utica; his daughter, Denise Ann Lansberry, and her husband, Doug, of Ganesville, VA; and his daughter, Diana Marie Craft, and her husband, DP "Bink", of Utica. Dan is additionally survived by his six grandchildren: Robert Lee Montgomery of Franklin, Jayma A. Marbich, and her husband, Dan, of Franklin; Austin Lansberry of Ganesville, VA; Seth D. Craft of Utica; Saige M. Craft of Utica; and Hannah M. Craft of Utica. He is also survived by his four great-grandchildren: Ethan & Ella Marbich of Franklin, and Kooper & Tucker Montgomery of Franklin.In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his son, John H. Montgomery; his great-grandson, Gunner L. Montgomery; his brother Mearl "Mike" Boughner; and his brother Hubert Carl "Bud" Montgomery.Funeral services will be held at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin on Monday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. John Canon, pastor of the Jerusalem Christian Church in Greenville, officiating.
