Janet L. McDonald, 82, of Reno, passed away at UPMC Northwest in Seneca on Tuesday, November 10th.Born September 1, 1933 in Jackson Township, Venango County, Janet was the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Bertha V. Hanks Karns. She was married to Harold Richard McDonald on December 15, 1973 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2002.Janet retired from the Oil City Hospital where she worked for more than 35 years as the Food Supervisor. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and reading. She was a kind and generous person who loved spending time with her friends and family, and her pet dog, "Missy".She is survived by her son, Kenneth R. Phipps and his wife, Hope, of Farmerville, LA; her two daughters, Pamela J. Morris and her husband, William, of Franklin, and Sarah E. Wolf and her husband, Robert, of Rouseville; her 4 grandchildren, Justin, Sue, Kimberly, and Jessica; her 9 great-grandchildren; and her great-greatgrandson.Janet is also survived by her brothers, Charles R. Karns and his wife, Arvilla, of Franklin, and Leslie "Jake" W. Karns and his wife, Hilde, of Smyrna, TN; her sisters, Neva Kahler of Meadville and Gladys Passmore of Painted Post, NY; her sister-in-law, Janet Karns of Bradleytown; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Schoonover and Geraldine Karns; and her brother, Ralph "Buster" Karns.Family and friends of Janet will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Sunday, November 15th from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 16th at 11 a.m. with Father Christopher Barnes, nephew, officiating.
