Gary Douglas

Gary Douglas, 66, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, February 11th at 12:03 a.m. at his residence. Born October 13, 1949, Gary was the son of the late William and Laura Mollahan Douglas. On August 15, 1976, he married Freda Lesher-Stricklen, who survives.Gary was a retired mechanic for several garages. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, woodworking, hunting, watching football, and playing computer games. Gary was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #83 in Franklin.In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his 3 sons: Michael Douglas of Ivydale, WV; Russ Stricklen, and his wife, Lauren, of Hall, NY; and Sam Stricklen, and his companion, Karen, of Franklin; his 2 daughters: Samantha Tarr, and her husband, Mark, of Charleston, WV; and Dawna Turner, and her husband, Ben, of Franklin. He is additionally survived by his 12 grandchildren: Angelica Myers, Ashley Stricklen, Brian O'Dell, Felicia Stricklen, Brittany Stricklen, Libby Tarr, Shawna O'Dell, Mike Tarr, Mitch Aikens, Jesseca Tarr, Marissa Tarr, and Mark Tarr Jr.; as well as 7 great-grandchildren.Gary is also survived by his brother, William (Bub) Douglas, and his wife, Jane, of Ivydale, WV; and his 3 sisters: Susie Butter, and her husband, Jeff, of Virgina; Libby Duffield of Virginia; and Tara Bragg of Ivydale, WV.Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Ginny Flynn.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, on Sunday, February 14th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 14th at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Fultz, pastor of the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle Church, officiating.The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Mooseheart, 155 S.
