Lois H. Kuivinen, 88, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, February 29th at 3:15 p.m. at Sugar Creek Station.Born on January 28, 1928 at the family home on Elk Street in Franklin, Lois was the daughter of the late John F. and Hazel M. Sanders Hollinbaugh. On November 6, 1993, Lois married James Kuivinen, who survives.Lois was retired, but worked as an office clerk at the Venango County Courthouse. She was a member of the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church, a VNA volunteer, and a member of the "Lunch Bunch." Lois particularly cherished the moments she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by her sons: Barry Robinson, and his wife, Peggy, of Franklin; Ed Kuivinen, and his wife, Peggy, of Canal Fulton, OH; and Don Kuivinen of Cooperstown. She is also survived by her sister, Marzella Lydall of Mt. Rainier, OR.Additionally, Lois is survived by her 6 grandchildren: Marcy Curll, and her husband, Van, of Franklin; Kelly Braughler, and her husband, Josh, of Franklin; Brady Robinson of Franklin; Evan Robinson, and his wife, Kait, of Franklin; Ian Kuivinen, and his wife, Jess, of Weirton, WV; and LaRae Kuivinen of Cooperstown. She is further survived by her 6 great-grandchildren: Aden Braughler, Alaina Braughler, Rylee Curll, Morgan Curll, Sophia Robinson, and Theo Robinson.Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Vincent Robinson; her brother, Harold Hollinbaugh; her sister, Geraldine Hollinbaugh; her brother-in-law, Archie Lydall; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Hollinbaugh.Friends and family will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, on Wednesday March 2nd from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Karen Kostur, pastor of Sugarcreek United Methodist Church, officiating. I remember well spending many Christmas days at Lois’ house. They always went out of the way to make us feel welcome and make the day fun for the kids. She was truly a special person and much loved by all. Love you Aunt Lois, until we meet again.
