Albert "Aggie" Boyd Walters, 89, of Franklin, finally laid down his struggles as he left the world on June 9th at 10:10 p.m., surrounded by his family at home in Franklin. Albert's legacy is that of a hard-working, resilient, family man; who was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.Born July 13, 1926 in Rocky Grove, Albert was the son of the late Albert B. and Mildred J. Fury Walters. He was a graduate of Sugarcreek Township High School (now known as Rocky Grove High School). He then entered the US Air Force on December 1st, 1945 in Greensboro, NC. He served as a radio operator with the 29th troop carrier squadron in Italy for two years, he received and transmitted messages by international Morse Code and by voice, and was responsible for making minor repairs on the radio set. He was discharged on January 20, 1947 as a sergeant at Ft. Dix, NJ, and received the WWII Victory Medal.On July 13, 1947 (Albert's 21st birthday), Albert married Anita Mae Hillburg, who preceded him in death on February 25, 1988. She was the love of his life. He worked for 40 years at Chicago Pneumatic Tool and Protestant in faith. In years past, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going on Florida vacations. He had a love for animals and birds. Albert had a deep love for his family and immensely enjoyed seeing his great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Myrtle Lodge #316 F&AM for 60 years. For the past 7 years, Albert enjoyed living with his daughter, Sally, and her husband.Albert is survived by his daughters, Susan Walters, and Sally Marbich, and her husband, Mark, all of Franklin; his sister, Virginia Beatty, of Franklin; his grandchildren, Sara Marbich Wiegel, and her husband, Ryan, of Franklin, and Daniel Perry Marbich, and his wife, Jayma, of Polk. He is additionally survived by his two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ella Marbich of Polk.Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Clarence Walters; and his special friend and companion, Beverly Hanna.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the VNA Foundation, 491 Allegheny Avenue, Franklin, PA 16323; or to the Barkeyville Church of God, 5433 Pittsburgh Road, Harrisville, PA 16038.A private family memorial service will be held at the family's convenience. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin. Susan, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I know it’s not easy. Just remember that he is still watching over you. I talk to my dad all the time!!! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers..

It was such a pleasure & honor to have met Albert. What an amazing and caring man with a great personality. It’s hard when we lose someone we love but he is at peace now and watching over you. Sally & Mark you guys did an amazing job caring for and making his last days comfortable. Prayers that you will feel comfort in knowing that he appreciated everything you did for him.
