Linda Varner Rarer, 62, of Cooperstown, passed away on Monday, April 4th at 4:15 p.m. at Wesbury Nursing Home in Meadville.Born August 24, 1953, Linda was the daughter of the late Harry and Grace Sloat Varner. She attended Rocky Grove High School and worked for Anderson's Greenhouse for several years. She recently was an assistant preschool teacher at the Cooperstown Community Church of God, retiring in 2013.She married the love of her life on May 5, 1972, Garry Rarer, who survives. She also is survived by her 3 children: Jennifer Lytle and her husband, James, of Franklin, Garry Rarer Jr. and his partner, Marsha, of Stowe, PA, and Ryan Rarer of Franklin; her 2 grandchildren: Lacey and Garrett Beers of Franklin; and her special little friends, "The Girls," Sadie and Rosie (who were always by her side). She is additionally survived by her brother-in-law, James Showers, of Cooperstown.Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Donna V. Showers; and her brother, Steve Varner.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kirkland Foundation, PO Box 108, Franklin, PA 16301.Friends and family will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, on Thursday, April 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 7th at 5:00 p.m., with the Rev. Barry Markle, pastor of the Cooperstown Community Church of God, officiating.
