Sondra "Sandy" Eileen Butler Hudson, 82, of 1117 Old Mercer Road, Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, November 4th at 3:18 p.m. at the Caring Place in Franklin.Born March 9, 1933 in Ellwood City, Sondra was the daughter of the late Melvin Laviro and Lady Dot Coates Butler. She was a 1951 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. On June 11, 1953, Sondra married Bruce W. Hudson, who preceded her in death in 2006. Sondra retired from the VNA as a home health aide in 1999, after 10 years of service. She worked with the Franklin Hospital Auxiliary in a number of positions and two years as president. Sondra loved spending the holidays with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite thing was having parties with her friends. She attended the Uniontown Heights Church, where she was part of the Lady's Aid Society. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for 16 years. In her spare time, Sondra enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several card clubs.Sondra is survived by her son, Brad Hudson, and his wife, Deb, of Franklin; her son, Bryon Hudson, and his wife, Terri, of Polk; her daughter, Tracy E. Henry, and her husband, Stephen, of Franklin; and her sister, Melva Krupa, and her husband, Stan, of Monaca. She is additionally survived by her grandchildren: Ashley Montejo, and her husband, Jerry, of Marietta, GA; Corbin Henry of Franklin; Abby Hudson, and her fiance, Nate Roach, of Erie; Dillon Hudson of Geneva; Justin Hudson, and his wife, Johanna, of Norfolk, VA; and Jason Hudson, and his wife, Michelle, of Elmsford, NY. Sondra is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Kellen and Ayla Montejo of Marietta, GA.In addition to her parents and late husband, Sondra was preceded in death by her brother, Gary K. Butler; her sister, Bonnie Dawson; her sister-in-law, Georgie Butler; and her brother-in-law, William Dawson.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin on Saturday, November 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.Funeral services will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mindy Graham, pastor of Uniontown Heights Church, officiating.   1. Sharing so many Thanks givings at their home with the extended family, and deer hunting with her husband Bruce on that following Monday. Her “HUGE” pots of soup and chili was so good! Aunt Sondi was so kind with a quick smile! We will miss her!
