Byron E. Kendrick, Sr., 91, of Franklin, passed away on April 16th at 6:00 a.m. at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville.Born September 8th, 1924 in Franklin, Byron was the son of the late Frank B. Kendrick, Sr. and Mary Luella Felt Kendrick. He married the late Anne N. Savin on July 10, 1948.Byron was a WWII US Army veteran, where he was in the 102 Infantry 9th Army. While in the Army, Byron received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He retired from Joy Manufacturing in 1983, where he was a design engineer. In his spare time, Byron enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, aviation, photography, computers, mathematics, and spending time with his family.Byron is survived by his son, Byron E. Kendrick, Jr., and his wife, Sandra, of Franklin; his daughter, Diane L. Kendrick, of Franklin; his brother, Frank B. Kendrick, Jr., and his wife, Mary Ann, of Franklin; and his sister, Mary Jane Weathers, of Greenville.Byron is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristen Schrauder, and her husband, Charles, of Pittsburgh and Darcy Haun, and her husband Larry, of Franklin; his great-grandchildren, Gavinn, Brynn, and Trenton Haun of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.Byron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anne; and two grandchildren, Kelly Anne Kendrick and Kimberly Marie Kendrick.A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, where full military honors will be held. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, PA Division, PO Box 896, Hershey, PA 17033-0896; to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd. Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15235-5507; to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60698; or to the Marquette Hospice House, c/o Crawford County Hospice, 13465 N.
